One of the schools my girls went to in the past sent
home this idea years ago and my kids love it. The
ideas they brought home were for indoor table top
games. These can be fun on rainy days but we
wanted to add some games to play outside too so
we went wild with ideas. There are no set games.
Just have fun and make some up. Get creative the
best ones are the ones that make you laugh. When
you have all the games decided then you can start
playing. Keep score or don't keep score. All that
matters is that you do it together and have fun.
Ideas
Indoor Games
Table top races
See who can get across the table the fastest.
You can also do this on a floor with a set finish
line. Use a straw to blow things like cotton balls.
Use a straw in your mouth to try to roll things.
Find things you have in your house that you can
create events with.
Outdoor Games
Bean Bag Toss
No bean bags? Try sock balls.
Bubble Blowing Contest
Who can blow the biggest bubble?
Bowling
Recycle those 2 liter soda bottles. Fill them part
way with water and use them as pins. Any ball
will do.
Tug of War
Egg & Spoon
The old game of, try to carry an egg on a spoon
race. Add in any obstacles you can think of.
Javelin Throwing Contest
Pick funny things to throw. Try straws or paper
airplanes.
Archery
Bring out those squirt guns and foam dart guns.
Water Balloon Toss
Two players face each other and toss a water
balloon back and forth. After each throw the
players take one step back away from each
other. The player that misses loses and gets wet.
Water Balloon Baseball
The pitcher throws the water balloon at the
"batter". The batter catches the water balloon
and must run the bases without breaking their
balloon. In the meantime all outfield players
have one balloon that they can use to try to get
the player out. This game is a lot of fun but do
not forget to pick up all the broken balloons
afterwards.
