Your Fun Family - Jewelry
|
You start the bracelets with a tail and a knot just like
you did with the friendship bracelets. You will need
four cords that are six times the length you want the
project to be in the end. The two cords that are on
the outside are the knotting cords and the two cords
on the inside are the core cords.
Spiral Bracelets
To make these bracelets you need to know how to make the
Half Knot. Full instructions are on the Macrame Page.
Square Knot Bracelets
To make this bracelet you need to know how to make a
Square Knot. Full instructions are on the Macrame Page.
Using Colors
When you make the bracelets you want to make sure you do
not use anything that will be too rough on your skin. You can
even use a strong yarn that is not very fuzzy if you want it to
be very soft.
Have fun with the bracelets and see if you can come up with
some new ideas. If you do not like it you just have to pull out
the cords and start again. You can even make necklaces and
anklets to match.
Have fun making your own jewelry and make memories.

A macrame spiral bracelet is
made by making half knots
down the entire project. As
you work it will form the
spiral all on its own.
If you would like to add
beads to this bracelet you
can slide beads up the core
cords after a complete turn
has been made in the spiral.
You can either add a bead
every spiral or every other.
The bracelet on the left is if
you make square knots
using the same knotting
cords from the beginning
to the end.
The bracelet on the right
shows if you alternate
which cords you use as
the knotting cords. In this
picture two square knots
are formed before the
knotting cords are
switched with the core
cords. You can play
around with this and try
doing different amounts of
square knots before
switching cords.
If you would like to use
colors here are some
examples of the results.
The one on the left shows
if you use two side by side.
The one on the right
shows if you use one color
for both knotting cords
and another for both core
cords and then make the
bracelet that switches
which cords are the
knotting cords.
