Friendship Pins
Friendship pins are making a big come back
and they are very simple to make. All you
need is some safety pins and some beads.
Then you can start getting creative.

Just take some safety pins and thread some little seed beads
on to them.
Then take a larger safety pin and thread the loop end of the
safety pins on to it.
You can pinch the safety pins shut with a pliers if you want
to be sure that they stay closed or you can just leave them
as is if you want to keep changing your designs. The beauty
of the pins is that you can make them very simple or try to
make pictures with them.
You can now take your creation and pin it to a jean jacket or
through the loop on the tongue of your shoes to dress them
up and make them unique and pretty.
Don't forget they are friendship pins so you can make some
for your friends too just like the bracelets.
As with everything else, don't just stop there. Try to find
other ways to use them.
Bracelet
You can get long beading elastic and thread them on.
Use a length 8 inches more than twice the size you want the
finished piece to be.
Fold the elastic in half.
Feed the loop end on to one side of the elastic and the
opening end on to the other.
Take another safety pin and turn it so the loop end of one
touches the opening end of the other.
Continue to feed on safety pins rotating back and forth until
you have reached the length you wanted.
Carefully move the pins away from the folded end of the
elastic. Cut the elastic to make 2 separate strings. Now bring
the end around and tie the bracelet together using a square
knot. If you are worried that it will untie just feed the extra
elastic ends back into the pins so if it unties you will have
enough left to tie it again.
From this idea you can make all kinds of things.
Think of all the things you can decorate.
How about wrapping one around a candle holder.
If you use a candle holder that light can shine through the
beads will give off a colorful glow.
In this project three separate lengths of elastic were used.
The middle elastic is alternating between pins from the top
and bottom elastic.
This makes the middle elastic longer so it can go around
rounded objects. You can also add beads to the elastic.
