Specialty
Glycerin Soap
Specialty soaps are becoming all the rage. They
can be very expensive and it can be hard to find
the type and scent you want.  You can easily make
your own exactly how you want them and create
incredible gift baskets for your friends and family.

You will need to first read the section that explains
Glycerin Soap Melting  before you start if you have
not already. It will open in a new window so you
will not lose your place.

Loofah Soap

Everyone is going loofah crazy these days.
Everyone wants something that will gently
exfoliate their skin. You can easily and cheaply
make your own loofah soap right at home.

This one works well in a frozen juice tube. The
cardboard can be peeled away after the soap is
hard. You can use anything else you may have on
hand that is around that shape.

1. Cut the loofah and place it into the tube so it is
just a bit shorter than the tube you are using.

2. Pour the melted glycerin soap into the tube.

3. When the soap is fully hard peel the cardboard
away and cut the soap into slices. You can rub the
cut edges  with a wet finger to smooth it out.

Soap Puffs

For this one you will need a rounded mold and a
bath puff. You color of the puff shows through so
you will not need to color the soap.

1. Place bath poof in the center of the mold,
holding the nylon handle upward (you don't want
to embed that!)

2. With your other hand, slowly pour glycerin over
every section of the bath poof on all sides. The
bath poof will start to sink as the glycerin hits it -
keep pouring all around until you have submerged
the bath poof. A bit of the nylon might poke out a
little bit. You can take a bamboo skewer and push
it back down into the glycerin.

3. Let the nylon handle lean over out of the
glycerin - it will make a nice little rope to hold your
soap.

4. Wait until glycerin has cooled and pop soap out
of the mold.
